Straying a touch from my usual schedule, I have written a trilogy of poems that I will publish in order this coming week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each poem explores the inner landscape of faith: the quiet transformation of the soul through mercy, the surrender that reveals light within brokenness, and the contemplative longing that draws us into union with God. Together, the poems reflect the journey from life and onto the next (respectively, conversion, purification, and glorification). Individually, my work seeks to dwell in that still space where prayer becomes poetry, and poetry becomes a kind of listening.
