An old tree has weathered countless storms, each leaving its mark.
Left less beautiful than when its bark was fully intact and its leaves were unblemished, it offers a different beauty now.
There is character where once smooth surfaces adorned its trunk. There’s more to see within its cracks and holes, baring its soul.
It has weakened but not diminished. Its branches reaching to the sky are no less defiant.
Perhaps beauty is something less than perfection.
Behold what is and give thanks to Him who creates all.
