Prayerfully Poetic

A Collection of Prayerful Poems by Tim McGee

Find me again, Lord

Jesus,

You left the ninety-nine
without urgency
but with knowing.

Mercy moved Your feet.
Love led the way.

You entered the silence
where my name was spoken only by You.
The dark recognized You.
The distance closed itself.

You left in confidence,
trusting the Father’s will
and the quiet pull of grace.
You knew I would be there.
You knew I could be found.

Find me again, Lord,
in the places without language.
Lift me where effort ends
and only surrender remains.

Let me rest in the weight of Your presence,
carried by a love
that never doubts
what belongs to it.

  3. There is something deeply comforting in the way you describe Him leaving the ninety-nine “without urgency but with knowing.” It shifts the image from rescue in panic to love in certainty. That quiet confidence changes the whole tone.

And that final surrender — where effort ends — feels like the true resting place of the poem.
