Prayerfully Poetic

A Collection of Prayerful Poems by Tim McGee

The Arc of Freedom

There is no condemnation.
Not for me,
not anymore.
The chains have fallen,
the verdict stands.
Christ has borne it all.

The Spirit breathes in me now,
not the weight of law,
but the wind of life.
What the flesh could not carry,
grace has lifted.
What sin had broken
and love takes its place.

I am no longer debtor
to the old ways of death.
I am child,
heir,
beloved.
I cry out, Abba, Father,
and heaven answers.

Still, the groaning remains,
creation sighs,
my soul aches,
this body longs for redemption.
Yet hope holds steady,
for what is unseen
is already secured.

The Spirit prays when I cannot.
The Father works when I cannot see.
The Son intercedes when I cannot stand.
All things bend toward good,
because His purpose cannot fail.

And so I ask,
Who shall accuse?
Who shall condemn?
Christ died.
Christ rose.
Christ reigns.
I am convinced
Christ holds me fast.

No death,
no life,
no angel,
no darkness,
no height,
no depth,
nothing in all creation
can sever what God has sealed.

From the first whisper of mercy
to the final shout of glory,
the song remains:
No condemnation.
No separation.
Only Christ.
Only love.
Forever.
