Peace is not the hush of silence,
nor the pause between battles,
but the steady breathing of a world
aligned with what is just.
It is the stillness of a heart
no longer chasing every storm,
a quiet strength that steadies
when shadows lengthen.
Peace is found in the unseen,
the hand unclenched,
the word withheld,
the forgiveness offered in secret.
It is not escape,
but presence,
the work of love,
the labor of mercy,
the wholeness of shalom.
Peace is less the absence of war
and more the presence of truth.
Not the end of struggle,
but the beginning of harmony.
And in the end,
it is God’s own breath
restoring, renewing,
making all things
whole again.
