Prayerfully Poetic

A Collection of Prayerful Poems by Tim McGee

Beware of false prophets

Those who deem themselves wise, from whence
Convinced by their own “convincibility,”
Portend to put forth eloquence
Yet speak with vacant agility.
(Nothing more)

They wax poetic, quite nostalgic,
With flair for polished parlance, bold,
Presenting obfuscatory rhetoric
A dance where wisdom’s left untold.
(Nothing more)

While some may believe the words flower,
Obfuscation? That’s not it.
More like an over-fragrant tower
Of steaming, stylized bullshit.
(Nothing more)

inspired by Jeremiah 14:14
