The Fullness of the Empty Tomb

The stone was rolled but not by hands
Nor Roman might nor weeping friend
But by the weight of Glory’s breath
The crushing of death’s own end

What fullness speaks from emptiness
What voice resounds from vacant space
Yet here within this hollowed grave
Eternity unveils its face

The linen folds no body’s weight
Yet every wound is sanctified
The marks remain but not the flesh
For flesh was lifted glorified

No dust returns to dust again
No soul is bound beneath the earth
The Lord who entered depths of death
Has broken death and given birth

O harrowing Light O shattered veil
Hell’s hollow boasts are now made weak
What tomb could hold the Living Word
Whose silence thunders when He speaks

And now this void is not a loss
But fullness vast beyond compare
For in this empty risen space
The whole of heaven meets us there

“He is not here, for He has been raised just as He said!”
-Matthew 28:6
