The Stations of the Cross

The Tenth Station, Jesus is Stripped of His Garments

A Naked Sacrifice

They take what is left,
grimy hands pulling at the seams,
ripping dignity from the bruised frame
of the One who clothed the lilies.

Dust rises, a bitter incense,
as flesh, torn and raw,
meets the chill of the world’s indifference.
He stands exposed,
not just His skin, but His love,
laid bare for all to see.

What Adam grasped,
He now surrenders.
What was once covered,
He unveils.
No shame in this nakedness,
only the unashamed gift
of the Lamb who gives all.

And heaven does not turn away.

Let us pray:

You stood before them,
stripped of all but love.
The world’s cruelty tore Your robes away,
but could not touch Your mercy.

Help me to let go, O Christ,
of the garments I clutch so tightly,
my pride, my control,
the fragile coverings of self-will.

May I stand before You,
unveiled and unafraid,
clothed only in the grace You give.

Let me not turn away from Your suffering,
but see in Your surrender the path to my own.

Amen.
