There is so much I do not know,
the weight of stars, the measure of time,
the whispering roots beneath the earth,
the unspoken thoughts in another’s mind.
I long to know, to understand,
to gather truth like scattered light,
but what is wisdom if it does not burn
to draw me closer to Your sight?
If knowledge swells but love grows thin,
if knowing much leaves my soul dim,
then let me turn from hollow things
and seek the knowing found in Him.
For what is knowledge if not a flame
that warms, that purifies, that leads?
And what is wisdom if not the path
that bows before Your voice and heeds?
So teach me, Lord (but only this),
what draws me deeper into grace,
what strips me of myself until
I only long to see Your face.
Let every question, every doubt,
be bridges leading back to You,
and may the knowing that I seek
be love made holy, pure, and true.
