The Word Eternal (prose poetry)

In the beginning, before time’s breath, the Word stood eternal, creating all things—the stars, the seas, the bending tree—life and light to all, shining in darkness that would not overcome it, yet His own did not know Him as He walked among them, full of grace and truth, turning water to wine, offering living water at the well, proclaiming, “I am the Bread of Life, the Shepherd, the Door, the Vine, the Way,” feeding multitudes, healing blind eyes, weeping at Lazarus’ tomb before calling him forth, foretelling the seed that must die to rise, and on the cross, bearing the weight of sin, crying, “It is finished,” as love poured out in shame to conquer death, until, by dawn’s first light, the stone rolled away, and He rose, wounds of grace declaring peace, life, and eternity for all who believe in the Word made flesh, written that we may know and behold His love.
