Joy: The Third Flame of Advent

The flame leaps bright, a holy spark,
Amid the Advent’s deepening dark.
Not yet the morn, not yet the sight,
But here a joy is burning bright.

Gaudete! A call resounds,
Through weary hearts and barren grounds.
Rejoice! For promises long foretold,
Are cast in hues of rose and gold.

A prophet’s voice, a Virgin’s song,
A Savior waits, the days not long.
Hope and peace have tilled the way,
Now joy erupts, a heavenly ray.

No fleeting laughter, no passing cheer,
But steadfast joy that draws us near.
To manger low and stable bare,
Where Love Himself breathes earthly air.

Rejoice! The Lord is ever nigh,
As anticipation lingers, lift your eye.
For soon the dawn shall break the night,
And joy will blossom in His light.

Thank you so much for sharing, Tim. Love the imagery of joy erupting and recognizing it as heavenly ray. Beautiful! God’s blessings ~Barb Garding
