The First Station, Jesus is condemned to death

A Silent Sacrifice
The Judge of all stands judged today,
silent before the gavel’s fall.
The Word that spoke the world to life
now waits as death is called.
False tongues weave their wicked tales,
truth is twisted, love betrayed.
Yet mercy does not lift its voice,
nor justice draw its blade.
Behold the King, despised, condemned,
wrapped in robes of scorn and shame.
Yet even now, His gaze is love,
a love that bears our blame.
O silent Lamb, O willing Christ,
in this dark hour, You make known:
salvation wears the thorn of loss,
redemption bears the stone.

Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, You stood before Pilate,
condemned though innocent,
silent though all truth belongs to You.
You did not resist, though You could.
You did not defend, though You were blameless.
Teach me the holiness of silence,
not the silence of fear,
but the silence of surrender,
the silence of trust in the Father’s will.
When I am falsely accused,
let me choose humility over rage.
When the world twists truth,
let me stand firm in quiet faith.
And when the weight of sin presses in,
remind me: You have already borne it all.
Jesus, condemned for my sake,
have mercy on me.
Amen.
