Quietly eschewing morning’s cacophony, fingers caress beads
Each one a pulse of the heart in prayer
Ave after Ave, a sacred cadence
Echoing within the soul’s quiet chambers
Composing grace into the heart’s song
Ave María, grátia plena
Contemplating the Mysteries unfolds the Gospel
Repetitive prayer choreographing a sacred dance
Sorrows shared with the Mother’s contemplative heart
Joy intertwined with divine promise
Glory be to the Father
Fingers slide smoothly across beads
A rhythm both ancient and eternal
Connecting the whole of heaven and earth
Encircling love and faith
Our Father, who art in heaven
Voices rise like incense, billowing to the skies
A symphony of trust, of hope, of love
In the rhythmic embrace of the Rosary
I find my place in its sacred telling
Restfully beneath the evening stars, fingers caress beads
The day’s burdens gently laid at Mary’s feet
In this rhythm, my heart finds peace
In this prayer, my soul finds respite
Each bead a grasp of the divine
The Rosary is an epitome of the whole Gospel.
-Pope St. Paul VI
